Ethiopia Records 134 New COVID-19 Cases
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has confirmed 134 more Covid-19 infections on Tuesday, bringing the tally to 274, 480, data from the ministry of health shows
According to the ministry, the country identified the new positive cases after testing close to 5, 400 people in the past 24-hours.
Additional seven deaths have also been recorded in the same period, pushing the number of people who lost their lives due to the virus to 4, 257.
Currently, there are now 18, 341 confirmed active cases in the East African Nation.
Of these infected people, 242 are severely sick and are getting medical treatments at covid centers, according to the ministry.
The Ministry also reported a total of 773 people have recovered from the respiratory disease caused by coronavirus in the past 24-hours.
Ethiopia, Africa’s second-most populous nation, has reported the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the East Africa region.
Health officials are taking various measures to control the spread of the virus including an immunization campaign.
On Tuesday, they inoculated a total of 6, 550 people against Covid-19.
To date, a total of 1, 954, 623 people have been vaccinated since the country started the campaign in mid-March.
