COVID-19: Ministry Reports over 400 New Cases, 5 Deaths

ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopia has registered 408 more Coronavirus cases and 5 covid-related deaths on Thursday, bringing the confirmed cases and deaths tallies to 124, 264 and 1, 923 , respectively.

More than 5, 500 people have been tested for the virus over the past twenty-four to identify the new positive cases, the Ministry of Health said in its daily covid report.

Currently, there are over 10, 243 confirmed active cases in the country. Of these, 234 patients have been hospitalized after falling severely ill, the report indicates

The report also shows at least 226 people have regained their health during the period, pushing the total number of recoveries to over 112, 000.

To date, the East African nation has conducted more than 1.8mln tests since the first coronavirus case confirmed on March 13, 2020.
