COVID-19: Ethiopia Records 10 Deaths, over 1, 700 Recoveries

ADDIS ABEBA – At least 1, 731 people have recuperated on Thursday after contracting coronavirus, Ethiopia’s Health officials reported.

The Ministry said at least 88, 975 covid patients have regained their health since the country registered its first case in March.

On the same day, the country has registered 526 new patients of Covid-19, the deadly respiratory disease caused by coronavirus. Health officials have conducted nearly 6000 tests over the past twenty-four hours to find the new positive cases.

The ministry also reported additional 10 covid-related deaths, pushing the death toll to 1, 779.

Currently, there are 24, 604 confirmed active cases in the country. Of these cases, 316 patients are in the intensive care unit after falling severely ill, the ministry said.

To date, the country has tested nearly 1.7 million people for coronavirus and confirmed 115, 360 cases.
