Covid-19: Ethiopia’s Recovery Count Exceeds Active cases  

ADDIS ABEBA – The number of recoveries has exceeded the total of confirmed active cases for the first time in nearly three months, the Ministry of Health said.

This was reported after the county reported at least 754patients regained their health after contracting coronavirus.

The latest figure has pushed the total number of recoveries to more than 45, 260 – surpassing the total active cases in the country by225.

Thursday’s daily Covid-19 report indicates that there are now45, 035 active cases in Ethiopia where at least 575 new cases of COVID-19 were reported on the day.

More than 300 patients are severely ill and are currently seeking medical attention in Covid-19 health centers, according to the ministry.

As many as12 case fatalities have been reported in a span of 24 hours, pushing the death toll due to the respiratory illness caused by coronavirus to reach 1, 396.

Ethiopia has so far tested more than 1.4 million people since the first Covid-19 case confirmed seven months ago and confirmed 91, 693infections.
