Ethiopia Reports 661 New Coronavirus Infections, 14 Deaths
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has reported 661 more coronavirus infections on Wednesday, bringing the tally of confirmed cases to over 71,000, according to Ministry of Health.
The country has conducted 8,551 tests over the past twenty-four hours to identify the new positive cases of COVID-19 – a respiratory illness caused by coronavirus.
Additional 14 deaths were reported during the period, pushing the death toll to 1, 141, according to the ministry’s daily report.
Currently, there are 40, 687 active cases in Ethiopia. Of these, 269 patients are in severe conditions, report indicates.
It also says at least 6262 patients of COVID-19 have recovered during the period. To date, 29, 253 people have recuperated from the disease.
The East African nation identified its first case on March 13. So far, the country tested over 1.22mln individuals for coronavirus and confirmed 71, 083.
