Ethiopia Records 9 Additional COVID-19 Cases

ADDIS ABABA – The number of coronavirus cases in Ethiopia has increased to 272 after nine people tested positive today.

Laboratories across the nation have tested 3580 people for COVID-19, a respiratory illness caused by Coronavirus, over the past twenty-four hours.

“Nine of them tested positive for the virus,” confirmed the Ministry of Health in its daily report today.

The patients – five male and four female individuals – are within the age range of 17 and 66. They are identified in Addis Ababa and from isolation center in Jigjiga, the capital city of Somali regional state, says the report Health Minister Dr. Lia Tadesse issued today.

The ministry says four of them are imported cases and three contracted the virus from the previously confirmed case. The remaining two patients have neither contact with the previously confirmed case or travel history.

The cases have increased the number of people currently being treated with COVID-19 to 157. The ministry did not report a new recovery case.
