Ethiopia Reports 3 New COVID-19 Cases, 2 Recoveries

ADDIS ABEBA – Ethiopia has reported three additional cases of coronavirus disease today, taking the number of confirmed cases to 194.

Laboratories across the nation conducted 1861 testes over the past twenty-four hours.
“Of these, three of them confirmed positive for COVID-19,” said the ministry of health in its daily report today.

All of the patients are female in their twenties and re residents of Addis Ababa, indicates the report.
The ministry says all of them have no travel history.

While the two patients contracted the virus from the previously confirmed cases, the ministry says it’s investigating how the remaining one patient infected with the COVID-19, a respiratory disease caused by the deadly coronavirus.

The ministry also two patients – one from Oromia region and another resident of Addis Ababa City – have recovered from the virus.

The latest case brings the total number of recoveries in Ethiopia to 95.

Considering the spike in the number of cases recently, Dr. Lia Tadesse urged the public to strictly adhere to precaution measures.

“WE need to be reminded that every single action we take determines the risk of contracting the virus,” she said, “therefore, we should limit our movement and cover mouth and nose with face/cloths mask when going outdoors, avoid mass gatherings, wash our hands with water and soap and maintain physical distancing”.
