ADDIS ABABA – Health officials have identified one coronavirus (COVID-19) patient today, taking the total number of confirmed cases in Ethiopia to 56.
Over the past 24 hours, Ethiopian public Health Institution has conducted a total of 294 laboratory tests of COVID-19.
A patient who came to Ethiopia from Canada via Dubai has become the latest victim of the virus, the ministry of health said in a statement issued today.
The 43 years old man was under a mandatory quarantine when he tested positive for the virus.
The latest case increased the total number of COVID-19 patients currently receiving treatment to 48.
The country has so far reported two deaths from the virus while four recovered from the disease. Two foreign patients have already left for their country.
