Ethiopian Air Force Increases Capacity to Defend Airspace

ADDIS ABABA – The Ethiopian Air Force inaugurated the expansion project of its new MiG-23 fighter aircraft shaped office building in its West Division on Saturday.

Chief Administrator of the Amhara regional state, Temesgen Tiruneh, Chief of Staff of the Ethiopian Defense Force, Gen. Adem Mohammed, and Commander of the Ethiopian Air Force, Brig Gen Yilma Merdasa attended the inauguration of the project, reported state-affiliated FBC.

The West Division of the Ethiopian Air Force is building its technological capacity and skill to defend the country’s airspace and sovereignty at all times, said Colonel Chernet Mengesha, head of the West Division.

The expansion project would serve as an additional force for the sweeping reform being undertaken within the defense army, he added.
