Ethiopian, Djiboutian Firms Agree to Collaborate in Construction Projects
ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation (ECWC) has entered into a partnership agreement with Djibouti’s Enterprise Dawaleh Construction (EDC) to collaborate in projects across the two countries and beyond.
Top officials of the two construction firms signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Ethiopian Embassy in Djibouti on Sunday.
Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Djibouti Berhanu Tsegaye said he was “thrilled to witness the union of our very own” the ECWC and Djibouti’s EDC.
“This partnership aims to create remarkable collaboration in various construction and related projects across Ethiopia, Djibouti, and other Central and East African countries,” the ambassador said.
“Africa’s need for homegrown companies in major construction initiatives is being fulfilled.”
Authorities say the ECWC is already making significant contributions in Djibouti. Its ongoing construction projects include the Galamo and Moloud 35 KM road within the Molude-Dikhil-Galamo road project.
The “strategic collaboration” with EDC would strengthen the bond between Ethiopia and Djibouti while driving the construction industry in Central and East Africa forward, the Ethiopian Embassy in Djibouti said.
The Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation specializes in various construction projects, including highways, bridges, airfields, dams, irrigation systems, water supplies, buildings, and manufacturing of building supplies.
