CORONAVIRUS: Three New Cases Confirmed in Ethiopia

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia has confirmed today three new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, taking the total number of cases to 19.

Minister of health Lia Tadesse said Ethiopia public health institute has conducted 87 tests in the past 24 hours.



From these, “three additional COVID-19 cases have been confirmed, making the total cases to nineteen”, she said in a statement her Ministry issued today.

The first case is a 28 years old female Ethiopian with travel history of Brussels, Belgium and Cameroon on March 17 and 19, respectively.

“the other two cases are a 14 years old male and a 48 years old female who are members of a family who resides in Adama Town,” the statement said.

Both had history close contact with the previously confirmed case.

The country currently has COVID-19 patients with one of them in an Intensive Care Unit.

On Thursday, the ministry of health announced that one patient has “fully recovered” while two other patients have already left for their country.
